How our weekend league works:
1. League Play Sign-up
Go to "Members Weekly Sign-Up" page on this site, and submit your request for play for the upcoming weekend.
Schedule is below. Requests must be received by Wednesday of each week, 11:59PM.
Generally, it is first come, first served. We will try to accommodate everyone; but you may not get multiple sessions in a weekend if the demand is high.
Demand for singles play far exceeds doubles. We try to give everyone equal chance to play singles matches.
Confirmation notification will be sent by e-mail and the league schedule posted on the PLTA website on Thursdays.

5. 2011 League System For the 2011 league season, we will implement the following formula to calculate League rankings. In addition to the current method (winning games percentage), a self-assessed rating will be added. The final ranking will be the sum of these two components.
The formula is:
Weighted Ranking = (Games Won Percentage) + (Self-Rating)
The Games Won Percentage is calculated by dividing the total number of games won by the total number of games played. E.g., a player with a winning score of 6-4, 6-4 will have a games won percentage of (6+6)/(6+4+6+4) = 60%.
The Self-Rating is the GLTA level that a player assigns him or herself. The rating values are as follows:
GLTA Level Self-Rating Value
Open = 100
A = 90
B = 80
C = 70
D = 60
For example, the player with a 60% games won percentage rates himself as a ‘B’ player, then he will have a weighted ranking of 60 + 80 = 140.
The weighted rankings will be published weekly, along with the Games Won Percentage and the Self-Ratings. The weighted rankings will be used to determine pairings and groupings for singles and doubles. In addition, efforts will be made to ensure that a player is assigned a match with the closest ranking each week with a player that is not more than one Self-Rating level in either direction (i.e., a C player will not be matched with an A player if C or B player has requested play that week)
Ratings will be used for singles and doubles pairings after the player has participated and received credit for 2 weeks of play. During the player’s initial two weeks of league play, the player will be paired with a player of a similar Self-Rating.
The League Coordinator (and Administrator) has discretion to arrange matches with the next-closest ranked player, to avoid repeat consecutive match-ups.
